Bio

 

Wonju kim currently lives in New York City working as a shop technician at Parsons the New School for Designs.  She earned her BFA in Fibers and Textile studies from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, U.S.A. as well as in Media Art from Kaywon School of Art and Design in Korea.

Kim has had various group exhibitions and activities in art and fashion including Craft Show at Convention center, Tawney continues at The University of the Arts and New York fashion week. She also received Rosalie Borowsky Belkin Award in Fibers in 2014.

 

Statement 

 

My work is about communication and gestures for people who are unable to see through the eyes of two societies. living in the states has enlightened me to the variety of living conditions. with my work i show people that there are numerous aspects and gestures of life that can be relearned.
